Contact Lenses
From daily disposables to specialty rigid lenses, there are many ways to see clearly with contacts. Ask our staff about a contact lens exam to find the modality that fits your eyes and your lifestyle.
Many modalities of soft contact lenses exist — 1-day disposables, 2-week disposables and 1-month disposables. In certain cases where a disposable lens may not achieve the visual acuity you need, specialty contact lenses such as rigid gas permeable (RGP) lenses may be a better choice. Below is a list of the contact lens fitting options we offer.
Spherical
When the refractive error of the eye contains no astigmatism, we can fit you with a spherical contact lens.
Toric
When the refractive error of the eye contains astigmatism, we can fit you with a toric contact lens. This lens is weighted so it stays in one position on the eye, correcting for the irregular shape and two focal points caused by astigmatism.
Monovision
Presbyopia gradually reduces your ability to focus up close. Monovision contact lenses correct one eye for distance and the other for near vision, and can be achieved with either spherical or toric lenses depending on your refractive error.
Multifocal
Multifocal contact lenses give both eyes the ability to see at distance and near, another option for presbyopia. They may not be suitable if you have a significant amount of astigmatism in your refractive error.
Colored
Whether you want a subtle enhancement of your current eye color or a more dramatic change, colored contact lenses may be a great option. Many are available with no prescription, or with correction for nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism and presbyopia.
RGP
Rigid gas permeable lenses provide a firm front optical surface for optimal clarity. This is especially valuable when the cornea has an irregular surface — as with conditions such as keratoconus, or after an injury that leaves a permanent corneal scar — where soft disposables may not deliver clear vision.
